Frequently Asked Questions

How many people does each cake size feed?
This will always vary depending on slice-size, but here is an approximate guide:

4" - 5 people
6" - 10 people
8" - 16 people
10" - 30 people

If I send you a photo of a cake, can you copy it?
We do not copy other bakers' creations or designs. If you send a photo for inspiration, we can create a similar cake in our own style.

Colours/seasonal items may vary depending on what is available and what is in season (for example, strawberries are unlikely to be available during the winter so these may be switched out for seasonal berries). All cakes are unique and will have our own touch applied to it, therefore are made in our own style, and not an exact copy of someone else's work.

Sometimes images online are edited/photoshopped with colours enhanced. So please be mindful that not everything you see online is realistic!

Will my cake look exactly like it does on the website?
All cakes are handmade and unique, meaning slight variations in colour, decoration, and design may occur. Cakes displayed on our website and social media are examples of our work, but we cannot guarantee an exact replica due to the nature of handmade baking. We will always aim to stay as close as possible to the agreed design while maintaining our artistic style and quality standards.

Can I add tiers to an existing cake from the website?
Yes! We can add another tier on of the same cake, or mix and match different styles for different tiers. Just send an email detailing what you'd like.

Can my cake be gluten/dairy/nut/any other allergen free?
We work with the allergens listed above (including milk, tree nuts, eggs, fish, soya and others) in our kitchen, so while we will always do my best to avoid any cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that there won't be traces. If you can confirm that traces are OK for you, then we're happy to fulfil your order. If you are extremely allergic, we will not be able to fulfil your order.

What ingredients do you use?
All baked items are made with high quality ingredients - including free range eggs, Douceur De France butter, organic flour, Tate & Lyle sugars, Callebaut Belgian chocolate and Swiss cocoa.

What buttercream do you use?
Most cakes are finished with American buttercream. Some cakes (this will be specified) are finished with Swiss meringue buttercream. If you'd like to request Swiss meringue buttercream instead of American, please include this in a note with your order (there is an additional
charge for this as it takes 3x longer to make!).

What's the best way to transport my cake?
Always lift and carry the cake from underneath, not from the sides of the box. If transporting in a car, place cake in the footwell or in the boot - avoid placing on car seats as they are not level.

How do I store my cake?
Most cakes won't require refrigeration if eating on the same day, unless in very warm conditions. If cakes have fresh flowers or fruit and are not being eaten right away, then do refrigerate. Store in a cool, dry place avoiding direct sunlight. Always eat the cake at room temperature for maximum enjoyment, so take it out the fridge a few hours before eating!

Do you accept last minute orders?
We are happy for you to contact us with a last minute order. We do not charge a last minute fee and will do our best to fulfil the order if we have the availability. Please note that delivery may not always be possible on last minute orders, collection is best.
